Commonwealth Bank Mastercard Debit Card
Available with either Commonwealth Smart Access account or Commonwealth Complete Access account, your Commonwealth Bank Mastercard Debit gives you low cost secure access to funds to make purchases and payments in-store, over the phone, or on the Internet anywhere MasterCard is accepted but by debiting funds directly from your account rather than extending credit. The Commonwealth Bank Debit Card (through Mastercard) is one of the latest offerings from the major Australian banks & CBA have gone all out to create a great debit card product. As the latest of the big 4 banks to launch a debit card product, the Commonwealth bank hope that they can learn from their competitor's mistakes and produce Australia's best debit card.
The Commonwealth chose Mastercard as their debit card partner so rather than a Commonwealth Visa debit card, you'll need to be happy to work through Mastercard. If you are loyal to Visa and have the necessary discipline, you can always make use of a Visa credit card through the Commonwealth in tandem.
